On April 14, Zhang Chuanwei, Chairman of Mingyang Group, visited the Huairou Laboratory, a national-level new type of scientific research institution, for a survey. He held a symposium with Tang Guangfu, Director of the Huairou Laboratory and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Tang Guangfu extended a warm welcome to Zhang Chuanwei and his delegation and introduced the scientific research achievements and technological breakthroughs in the energy field that the laboratory had made over the past three years. He also reviewed the laboratory's engagement and cooperation with relevant ministries, governments, and enterprises. He stated that the Huairou Laboratory will continue to focus on strategic, forward-looking, and fundamental scientific and technological research in the energy field, commit to scientific and technological innovation in the new energy sector, and adhere to the strategic orientation of the "four orientations." He expressed his expectation of working closely with Mingyang Group to conduct comprehensive and in-depth cooperation in new energy fields such as wind-solar-hydrogen, new power systems, application of research results, and innovation of application scenarios. He emphasized that through pioneering technological applications, they aim to drive corporate industrial upgrading and accelerate the cultivation of new green productive forces.

Zhang Chuanwei pointed out that over the past three decades, Mingyang Group has remained steadfast in its commitment to manufacturing as the core of its business and has always regarded scientific and technological innovation as a vital engine for high-quality corporate development. The Huairou Laboratory, as a national-level new type of scientific research institution in the energy field and an important part of the national strategic scientific and technological forces, has a strong alignment with Mingyang's strategy in terms of research capabilities and technological reserves in new energy. He highlighted the broad prospects for cooperation between the two parties and expressed his hope for close collaboration and joint progress with the Huairou Laboratory. He emphasized the need to strengthen the deep integration of industry, academia, research, and application to promote scientific and technological innovation and the transformation of research results in the new energy field, and to jointly build a high ground for new energy science and innovation. Zhang Chuanwei also expressed his expectation for the establishment of a long-term cooperation mechanism between the two parties in areas such as offshore wind power, power electronics, digital wind tunnels, floating ocean energy islands, flexible direct current, and green electricity, hydrogen, ammonia, and alcohol applications, as well as talent cultivation. He suggested regular technical exchanges and thematic scientific research cooperation to jointly explore new technologies, models, and business forms in the new energy field, contributing wisdom and strength to the "dual carbon" goals and comprehensive green transformation and development.

Mingyang Group and the Huairou Laboratory signed a strategic cooperation agreement in November 2024 and also concluded a technical cooperation agreement with the Renewable Energy Research Center of the National Huairou Laboratory. The two parties will work together to promote the transformation and application of research and development results and facilitate the implementation and promotion of scientific and technological achievements in the industry.
